A brief is nothing but an insight requirement. You potential clients on the InsightGig platform can either post a brief publicly (Public Brief) or send it privately (Private Brief) to you. Lets take a deeper look at each.
Public Briefs
Clients can choose to post briefs publicly. Such briefs are visible to all experts on the platform. You can search for these briefs by using the search bar available at the top of your screen.
To list all the briefs available on the platform, do a blank search, i.e. press enter without typing any text in the search bar. You will see a list of briefs in the chronological order of their posting on the platform. A typical brief in the list would look like this.
This is a preview and you can click on it to open the full view.
If the brief interests you, you can click on Send Proposal and send your offer. Yo can also schedule a meeting with the Client directly from the platform using Google Meet (your login ID needs to be a Google Workspace account or a Gmail account). Meetings can be scheduled to understand the brief further, ask questions etc.
Private Briefs
Potential clients can directly look up your profile and send briefs to you. That is a great reason for you to maintain a detailed and up-to-date profile! Once a brief is sent to you, you will get an email notification indicating so. Further, you can access this project in the Inbox section within your Sharetribe login. The link to the Inbox is on the top right of your screen. For example, this is how it will appear in the Inbox with the brief objective, status, date of brief posting, and date of first proposal.
Please note that once you receive a Private Brief from a client, 1-1 communication has been initiated and therefore you will have access to a project collaboration page, which includes access to a chat or messenger system. This page is accessible via the Inbox. You can review the brief and decide if you would like to send a proposal or decline. An example of the transaction page with its features is below.
